Individual Counselling in North Vancouver
Sometimes it is one clear thing. More often it is a build-up — sleep that has gone, patience that has thinned, a sense that you are managing rather than living.
I offer individual counselling for adults and young people in North Vancouver, and online anywhere in British Columbia.
How individual counselling helps
One-to-one work gives you a space with no agenda but your own. We slow things down enough to see what is actually happening — the patterns underneath the symptoms, and what keeps them in place.
Some of the work is practical: tools for managing anxiety, low mood or stress that you can use straight away. Some is slower, looking at how you learned to cope and whether those strategies still serve you.
My approach
My work is integrative and evidence-based, drawing on Emotionally Focused Therapy, attachment-based work, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness-based approaches, narrative therapy and CBT. Which of those we use depends on you, and I will explain what I am doing and why as we go.

Common questions
How long will I need to come?
It varies. Many people notice real shifts within six to twelve sessions, though longer-standing patterns often take more. We review progress together regularly, so you are never committed to an open-ended process.
How much does a session cost?
Individual, couples and youth sessions are $160 for 50 minutes. Family sessions are $240 for 80 minutes. Your first 15-minute consultation is free, and fees are the same whether we meet in person or online.
Is this covered by insurance?
Many extended health plans reimburse sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Check that your plan lists "RCC" specifically, as some cover psychologists only. I don’t offer direct billing, but I provide detailed receipts so you can claim.
